The Jackals Dance refers to the name originally given to the property, The Dance of Wolves. However it is understood that the Jackals were mistaken for wolves. Neethlingshof is perhaps the oldest wine estate in Stellenbosch. Grapes have been grown on Neethlingshof for more than 300 years or within 50 years of the Dutch East-India Company establishing a victualing station at the Cape to supply its passing ships.
