A Taste of Italy

Join me on Friday the 29th January at 6.00 p.m. when I will be chatting to John Leech (pictured), commercial director, of Araldica a dynamic export-focused cooperative cellar in Piemonte, specialising in Barbera, Gavi, Moscato, Barolo & Barbaresco.

Piemonte produces some of Italys finest wines, and these three wines are expressive examples of local varieties that offer delicious alternatives to the more ubiquitous wines on our shelves.

We will taste the following wines, if you would like to order them please do so by going to the shop page or clicking on the links below.:

La Battistina Gavi 2019, Crocera Barbera d’Asti Superiore 2017 & Alasia Langhe Nebbiolo 2018

Wines will be sent out on Monday 25th January, orders by the 18th please.

Email me david@dalexwine.co.uk if you would like to attend the tasting.

www.jancisrobinson.com Wine of the week – 3rd July 2020

Oliver Zeter Sauvignon Blanc Fumé 2018 ‘A very serious Sauvignon with some honeysuckle and weight but quite enough freshness. Green grassy aromas before the richness imbued by the winemaking kicks in. Very appetising. When Germany produces a really interesting, well-balanced Sauvignon, you know the wine world is truly changing and we all have to run to keep up. A hint of reduction is encouraged. Quite long.’
